What is Plannr?

What inspired me?

Coordinating plans with friends proved to be a challenging task, particularly when it came to finding mutually agreeable times. After a bunch of cancellations, I realised I needed a better way to make this happen.

What did I identify?

I wanted to have a sit down with my users and focus on tasks that they would want to accomplish. Therefore I conducted a value proposition workshop with 5 smartphone users ranging from ages 21 - 62.

The idea was to define a clear feature set that serves a real need

Here's what the workshop looked like

The outcome was two tasks to be completed namely, making plans with friends and family and sharing photos. I matched pain points to pain relievers and gains to gain creators, deriving a feature set that helps my users complete these tasks.

This led to the following feature set :

Simplified view of upcoming events
Integrate planning solution into existing group chats
Automated scheduling from conversations
Singular hub for all photos captured during an event

Here are some of the highlights of Plannr. Whatsapp implemented a similar feature called events to their application which demonstrates the inherent value and potential of this concept.
